post-contemplation. [Apr. 12th, 2007|01:44 pm]

First up, slimmeroftheyea had her gall-bladder op yesterday (a lot less micro-surgery and a lot more macro-) and is fit and well enough as can be expected, but will be in hospital for a day or two yet, which is a shame as the weather has turned great and glorious. I hope she'll be home at the weekend.

For my two penn'orth of Life on Mars, I reckon (from certain in-show evidence) that he was dead to begin with and it was all about him chosing an afterlife. No time travel, no coma, no madness. The unasked option to the question at the start of every show was 'none of the above'.

Contemplation is over, and I enjoyed it very much --great venue, city centre location in a very nice city-ette with lots of things to see, nice ambience and good eateries, and, despite my moaning about the swingeing cancellation fee, nice hotel staff. Pork baps to die for! Hats off to the commitee (ye know who ye are). And gorgeous weather. Delighted to have met umpteen liveournalistas and others, some when sober, who when otherwise --again, ye know etc etc. I'd've loved to have had more time to chat to people, but there didn't seem to be enough hours in the day. The icing on the cake was the BSFA short fiction award, which was utterly unexpected (as my lack of podium eleoquence showed) but very welcome. Thanks again.

Oh, and I forgot, here's that 300/It's Raining Men cut I was extolling...
